Representation of the dairy trade
Despite the deregulation of the EU dairy market, many 'Brussels policies' still have a considerable influence on our members' activities. This is the case in particular for the market management instruments under the Common Agricultural Policy, the very active EU trade policy as well as food regulation. We are therefore regulartly in contact with the European Commission, the Parliament, representatives of Member States and other industry stakeholders in order to promote the interests of dairy trade and to offer our expertise on market issues.
In this context, Eucolait participates in many organised fora for dialogue between the EU Commission and stakeholders, most notably the Milk Market Observatory, the Civil DIalogue Groups (run by the Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development) on milk, on the international aspects of agriculture and on quality and promotion as well as the market access advisory committee and the SPS market access working group organised by the Directorate General for Trade.
Eucolait is also member of CELCAA, the European liason committee for agri-food trade. Through CELCAA we participate in initiatives such as the Forum for a Better Functioning Food Supply Chain or the Supply Chain Initiative.
